Burning

Una de mis creaciones del 2010 es este cuadro que, por fín!, ha encontrado su sitio definitivo en una de las paredes del recién reformado estudio (la historia de la reforma merece otro/s posts). Lo he titulado Burning, principalmente por el color. No pretendía representar nada en concreto, simplemente me gusta jugar con los colores e ir improvisando. El cuadro tiene textura en relieve (polvo de mármol).

Como la pared de fondo es color antracita le hemos añadido una base en gris claro para que contraste. Ni marco ni nada, más sencillo imposible! Si queréis darle un toque diferente a algún lienzo que tengáis, solamente necesitáis un simple tablero de DM (o MDF), pintado en un color que contraste lo suficiente tanto con la pared de fondo como con el lienzo. Las medidas al gusto, en nuestro caso el tablero sobrevale 15cm alrededor del cuadro. Basta con atornillar el tablero a la pared para que quede bien anclado y colgar el lienzo encima. Una forma barata y original de "enmarcar" un lienzo.

One of the things I made last year is this canvas, which finally found its definite location, after hanging around for so many months. It is now placed in our newly renovated studio (the renovation story requires a separate post, or several ones I would better say...). The title is Burning, mainly because of the colors. I did not pretend to reproduce anything in particular, I just like playing with colors and improvise, that's it!

Since the background wall is dark grey we have added a wooden base painted in a light grey to achieve some contrast. It does not have any frame at all, pretty easy. If you wish to frame a canvas in a different way you will just need a piece of MDF, a bit bigger than the canvas (in our case, 15 cm all around the canvas) and paint it in a contrasting color with both the background wall and the canvas. Firmly attach the MDF on the wall and the canvas on top of it. As simple as that! An original and really cheap way to frame a canvas.
