No, no he desaparecido.

Ideas that arise while you are working on other things. Some notes to avoid forgetting it, some more thoughts and sketches to complete it and, finally, the pleasure to select the fabric, measure, cut, sew... Sometimes the result is not exactly what you thought. In some other occasions, it is indeed and, then, it is a complete joy.

This is what happened with this bag. One of those designs, which comes when you are completely busy. It's been waiting for a while but its time came eventually. And here it is. Now I cannot stop looking at it.

Tote bags

A few weeks ago I was asking you about your preferences when it comes to bags, if you preferred big or small ones. Well, this one I am showing today it is neither big nor small. It is a medium size bag, however having a great capacity, which allows to carry everything you need. And, due to the fact that it is not that big it is still very light and comfortable to wear. Those, at least, are comments coming from very nice customers who sent me their opinions. Thanks so much for that!!

I have made quite a few already, in different prints. There is a tote bag in stripes, a very nice pattern in neutral colors, which I love.

You can also find another one with a leaves pattern, in black and white, so elegant.

And the last ones I made not so long time ago, combining cotton canvas and japanese prints.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

We were wishing to see the snow during the whole Christmas vacation, when we had time enough to enjoy it. However it kept us waiting a bit more and, finally, a couple of days ago there it was, the first snow of the year. I love this scenario, everything covered, so white and clean.

With all this white environment around this print came to mind. A winter print, with cold colors, which I have already used for a couple of designs. I do not know if it is due to the print as such, or the colors, but the fact is that I keep looking at it for a while, I get somehow hooked. I love it!

Remakes

You already know my dear denim messenger. I love it because it was the first design that I made. The very first indeed was the Asian clouds. Then, I created some more using different prints.

A few weeks ago I got a custom order to make a combination between the denim messenger and the canvas messenger. Using the fabrics from the first one and the design of the latter, which I showed you here.

As I enjoyed a lot and I was very happy with the result I've been thinking about new possible combinations. And I already have one in mind. Maybe you can imagine which one it is. Now I am just missing some time to start working on it. It will come...

Maxi bag

What do you prefer, big or small bags? I couldn't tell you which ones I prefer most, it depends on the occasion. Anyhow, for the daily life I usually wear big bags, where you can carry many things. And I do have a little problem, because I tend to use it as a container. I store, and store, and store many things inside. So, from time to time I need to clean up a bit. You would be surprised to see what you can find there ;). I guess I am not the only one having this problem, am I?

The fact is that I had never made big bags for Marabara. I do not really know why, maybe I was a bit scared about the size and the proportions. Therefore, it was already time to start and now that I did I want to make more and more!

For the moment I am showing you the Maxi Bag. It is called Maxi because it is not a big bag but a mega bag, where you can carry everything! The nice thing is that you can use it in many different occasions, to go to the office, you can even carry your laptop there, for your baby's stuff or even for a picnic. You name it!

I love your suggestions

As the title says, yes, I love your suggestions and orders. Because sometimes they force me to leave my comfort zone and makes me think how to create certain products, what's the best way to do it, how to enhance the design... And also because in some other cases it allows me to discover new combinations, which I never thought about before.

This messenger bag is one of those requests. A combination of the fabrics from one of my bags, the denim messenger, in the shape of another one, the canvas messenger. I am so happy with the result that it is already part of Marabara's basic designs. I love it!

New material, new designs

This summer I've playing with new materials and new designs, I was really looking forward to do so. Once I started working on the designs I couldn't stop till they were finished.
The result... this new bags, which combine synthetic leather and a cotton print. This leather is wonderful, so soft and nice when you touch it. It is a pity that you cannot feel through the pictures.

This new design can be used in two different ways, either as a messenger bag, where you can carry everything you need during your day to day life, or as a clutch, just removing the handle. This way you can use it for special occasions or when you prefer a smaller bag.

Here you have a few pictures. If you want to see more you can also find it through my facebook page and also in the online shop.

One is not enough

A mi me pasa a menudo.

I can imagine I am not the only one who cannot stop making things once started. This is quite common in my daily life. Once I start working on a bag, wallet... whatever, I cannot simply make one and end up having some more. I guess it is partly due to my passion for collections. I love to see all products together, they look so pretty.

This is what happened with these denim messengers. I got an order for one bag and couldn't simply stop with that. These four additional ones came out of the atelier as well. I tried new prints and I am very happy with the results.

If you want to see more details you can find them already in my Artesanio online shop.

Welcome to my new little house!

¡Bienvenidos a mi nueva casita!

Welcome to my new little house! Another version of the Little House bag, made to order. It had to be with this kind of roof and the zipper at the back. So here it goes, a nice bag in red and green colors, with a roof, chimney, windows and door, which is, again, a little pocket. The strap is bicolor, adjustable, and long enough to be used by an adult, in case somebody is tempted to do so ;)

My daughter loves it. So much that she volunteered to participate in the photo session. She deserves one for herself. As soon as I have some spare time.

This bag comes together with a coordinated little house wallet and, of course, with a cloud brooch.

PC Bag

The first PC Bag that I made was in deep red color, the second one features a stone palette, grey-brownish tone. Again, it's been a custom order, where we together decided upon the fabrics to be used. Do you remember the fabric color cards that I prepared a few weeks ago? It was due to this order indeed, to facilitate the selection. Using the color card makes the process much easier.

One of the bags is now walking around in Lisbon, the other one will do it very soon in North Carolina, in the States. It is now on its way to Greensboro.
The names of the bags correspond to their destinations, Lisbon for the first one and Carolina for the second. Which city will be the next one?

Spring colors

In parallel with the massive little house production some other things are coming out of the atelier. Like this curvy clutch, made of a nice japanese cotton fabric. For the lining I chose a polka dot cotton in turquoise color, which combines pretty well with the exterior. The colors are soft and refreshing, ideal for spring or summer time.

To complete the set, this coordinated brooch. Lovely, isn't it?
