Comfort pack

There is nothing better than a comfort pack to calm a whining child. I must admit that I did not believe in this kind of packs, but it works! It is specially useful for ear aches, belly aches, a thousand different kind of aches... and will save you from suffering a sleepless night. You just need to put it for two or three minutes in the microwave and will stay warm for a long time.

This comfort pack has an exterior cover which can be washed in the washing machine, which is an absolutely mandatory requirement if used by kids. It is made of a linen texture cotton, very soft and cosy, with a patchwork detail. That way you can even personalized your packs. I also attached a handmade label. I love them.

The interior bag is made of white cotton and filled with rice. In order to avoid the strange smelling of rice, when heated, I added some drops of essential oil. Comfortable and aromatic!

Considering the warm welcome that this comfort pack had at home I plan to make some more. The next one will be a bit longer, to use it in the neck area. Besides, I will make some mini ones, specifically for ear aches, to be stored in the medicine cabinet for any emergency.

No hay nada mejor como un buen saquito térmico para calmar dolores varios. Debo decir que no me fiaba mucho del invento, pero funciona! Es realmente útil cuando tienes un niño pequeño quejándose de dolor de tripa, o de cuello, o de pierna... de mil cosas. Basta con meterlo unos minutos en el microondas, dos o tres será suficiente, ponerlo sobre la zona en cuestión y todos los  males desaparecen como por arte de magia.
Este saquito es desenfundable, así que cuando se ensucie (si lo usan niños será muy a menudo), no hay más que poner la funda exterior en la lavadora y listo. Está hecho de un algodón con aspecto de lino, muy suave, y un detalle de patchwork para darle el toque original. El saquito interior es de algodón blanco y está relleno de arroz. Para que al calentarlo no huela raro (el arroz al calentarse tiene un olor peculiar) le puse unas gotas de aceite aromático. Así que, además de calentito, huele fenomenal.
También le añadí una etiqueta, estampada con un sello handmade.

Como ha sido todo un éxito tengo que hacer más. Este mide aproximadamente 33x19 cm. El siguiente lo haré un poco más largo, para la zona cervical. Y también tengo pensado hacer unos de tamaño mini para los oídos, seguro que resuelven más de una noche en vela...
