El frontal está hecho con Robert Kaufman's Kona Cotton solids en varios tonos de azul, alternando filas de anchos diferentes. La trasera es azul marino con una franja horizontal en diferentes tonos para romper un poco y darle más vida. El bies también en azul marino. El acolchado es en líneas verticales, empezando en cada franja de fuera adentro, lo que crea espacios centrales de diferentes anchos. No sé si se aprecia muy bien en la foto. La idea era darle algún toque especial al acolchado.
Last summer I was invited to a friend's wedding. I like to give personalized presents, something specifically made for and thinking on that person. I thought that a quilt could be a good idea. Considering that blue was my friend's favorite color I designed this quilt, called Ocean quilt, you may guess why.
I used Robert Kaufman's Kona Cotton solids, combining several ranges of blue, creating vertical lines of different widths.
The back is dark blue with an horizontal line, mixing different grades of blue. I quilted every vertical piece individually, in straight lines, starting from the right side to the center and, then, from the left side to the center. That creates centered spaces of different widths in each vertical segment. I hope I explained myself...
That is such a generous present! What a lot of love and time went into that. They must have loved it!
