New material, new designs

Este verano he jugado con materiales y diseños nuevos, tenía ganas desde hace tiempo. Y fue ponerme con los bocetos del diseño y no parar hasta tenerlos listos.
El resultado, unos bolsos que combinan piel sintética y un estampado de algodón. Este material es una gozada de lo suave que es, yo no me canso de acariciarlo. El tacto es increíble, una pena que no se pueda apreciar en las fotos.

Este modelo de bolso se puede usar en dos versiones, bandolera o clutch. En la versión bandolera cabe de todo, así que para el día a día es ideal. Pero si quieres usarlo para alguna ocasión más especial o te gustan los bolsos más pequeños, con sólo desmontar el asa tienes un bolso de mano perfecto.

This summer I've playing with new materials and new designs, I was really looking forward to do so. Once I started working on the designs I couldn't stop till they were finished.

The result... this new bags, which combine synthetic leather and a cotton print. This leather is wonderful, so soft and nice when you touch it. It is a pity that you cannot feel through the pictures.

This new design can be used in two different ways, either as a messenger bag, where you can carry everything you need during your day to day life, or as a clutch, just removing the handle. This way you can use it for special occasions or when you prefer a smaller bag.

Planazo

Os propongo un plan, qué digo... un planazo! Para uno de esos días de vacaciones, a quien aún le queden, o un Sábado o Domingo (Lunes no, que está todo cerrado). Tomad nota.

En primer lugar un paseíto por el Paseo del Prado, con unos árboles magníficos que dan una sombra espectacular. Después una visita al Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, para disfrutar de la exposición de Hopper y, ya de paso, ver mi aportación de casitas en la tienda. Un poquito de autopromoción :)
Si vas con tiempo y ganas puedes aprovechar y visitar el museo al completo. Su colección impresionista es muy amplia. A mi particularmente me encanta.

Como al salir ya te habrá entrando sed y hambre, en un momento te plantas en la calle de Santa María, número 39. Sí, has llegado a Motha, mi descubrimiento de este verano. Ya hablé de ellos antes. Pero, insisto, no te defraudará y querrás volver. Ah! y no te vayas de allí sin probar su limonada casera.

Today I will give you some proposals to spend a beautiful day in Madrid.

You can start with a nice walk along Paseo del Prado, which is surrounded by trees, providing a fantastic shadow, ideal for the hot days here. Then, you can visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, where you still can enjoy the Hopper exhibition and, since you are there, see my collaboration to the museum's shop.
If you have time you can even visit the whole Thyssen collection. I love it!

After that you will be already hungry and thirsty, so just walking a few minutes from there, you will be in Calle Santa María no 39. Yes, you will be in Motha. I talked about this place before, but I insist, you will enjoy it and repeat!

Luggage tags

El otro día, jugando con los restos de unas pruebas que hice para las asas de cuero, salió este llaverín tan majo. ¡Aquí no se tira nada! . El caso es que me gustó eso de combinar el cuero con el entrelazado de hilo, y de ahí me surgió otra idea.

Si hay algo que odio de viajar es la recogida de maletas. Será por las malas experiencias de maletas perdidas en varias ocasiones o por el temor de que haya una maleta similar a la tuya y que alguien la confunda. Para evitar esto último lo mejor es llevar bien señalizada nuestra maleta, por ejemplo, con alguna etiqueta, de manera que en cuanto la veas en la cinta sepas que es la tuya. Y ahí es donde entra mi idea. Una etiqueta para maletas totalmente personalizada.

Es de cuero y va bordada a punto de cruz. Esta la he decorado con franjas horizontales en tonos degradados. Pero se me ocurre que puede quedar genial con nuestra inicial, o incluso con algún dibujo, ¿vosotros qué pondríais?

Aparte de usarla como etiqueta de maletas también se puede usar como llavero, o como adorno para la mochila o el bolso, para lo que se te ocurra.

Ahora le estoy dando vueltas a los detalles, pero dentro de poco las podréis conseguir en la tienda online en forma de kits DIY con todo lo necesario para que tú mismo la decores a tu gusto.

A couple of days ago, while playing with some scraps of the leather handles I came up with this cute key fob. I use everything! I loved the combination of leather and embroidery thread and a new idea came to my mind.

If there is anything I hate of traveling is the baggage drop. I guess it is due to the bad experience of some lost suitcases or the possibility of finding similar suitcases in the same flight with the risk of someone taking the wrong one. This situation can be solved by adding some personal touch to your luggage, like a belt or.... a tag like the one above, a one of a kind tag. It is made of leather and embroidered with cross stitch, in this case with an ombre design. I can also imagine it will look pretty with your initial, or a drawing... it is up your imagination.

Now I am working on the details, packaging, etc... As soon as I am ready it will be available in the online shop as a DIY kit so that you can create your own design. A totally customized luggage tag.

One is not enough

Seguramente no soy la única víctima del "ya que estoy...". A mi me pasa a menudo. Es ponerme a hacer una pieza que me hayan encargado y "ya que estoy..." hago unas cuantas más. Yo creo que en parte es mi pasión por ver una colección de piezas, todas juntitas, quedan tan monas.

Y esto es lo que me pasó con el último pedido que recibí, de un denim messenger. Fue empezar y no poder conformarme con uno solo. Ya puestos, salieron varios del taller. Y "ya que estaba", ¿por qué no probar nuevos estampados? Así es como han surgido estos bolsos vaqueros, que han posado juntos para el recuerdo.

I can imagine I am not the only one who cannot stop making things once started. This is quite common in my daily life. Once I start working on a bag, wallet... whatever, I cannot simply make one and end up having some more. I guess it is partly due to my passion for collections. I love to see all products together, they look so pretty.

This is what happened with these denim messengers. I got an order for one bag and couldn't simply stop with that. These four additional ones came out of the atelier as well. I tried new prints and I am very happy with the results.

DIY: friendship bracelets

¿Quién no ha hecho una pulsera de nudos, o macramé, alguna vez en su vida? Yo creo que casi todos. Pues después de tantos años sin acordarme de ellas, de repente, este verano las he visto por todas partes. En revistas de manualidades, en blogs... por todos sitios, ya os digo.

Así que al final me entraron ganas de hacer una yo también. Pensé que sería fácil, de estas cosas que nunca se olvidan, como montar en bici. Y mira tú por donde no fue así, me hice un lío monumental con los nudos. En estos casos lo mejor es tirar de tutorial y arreglado. Yo seguí este de PurlBee, que está fenomenal. Y una vez le coges de nuevo el truco va corrido.

Is there anyone out there who never made a friendship bracelet? I guess not. They were quite famous some years back. I did not even remember them. And, suddenly, this summer I've seen them everywhere. In crafts magazines, in blogs... I tell you, everywhere!

So I couldn't help but making one for myself. I thought it would be really easy. One of those things you never forget about, like biking. I am afraid I was totally wrong and had serious problems with the knots. The solution was easy, I followed this tutorial from PurlBee, which is really good, and problem solved!

This is the photo of my bracelet, in turquoise tones, as it is my favorite color. I think I'll be making some more, they are so fun. Will you make one as well? If so, I'd like to see the pictures :)

Bright & colorful

Hoy es un día de esos raros de verano, en los que amanece cubierto y gris. Así se ha mantenido todo el día, creo que el sol no ha asomado en ningún momento. Ahora parece que quiere hacerlo, a última hora de la tarde. Con lo que me gusta a mi el sol.

Como lo echaba de menos, me he alegrado la vista con estos joyeros tan coloridos. Ponerles nombre ha sido fácil esta vez. El de tonos rosas es el modelo "fiesta" y el de tonos azul-verdosos el modelo "martini". Más festivos imposible.

Estos dos viajan mañana hacia Zaragoza, pero también están disponibles bajo pedido en mi tienda de Artesanio.

Today is one of those strange summer days, cloudy and grey during the whole day. We have not seen the sun at all. Now it seems to be shining a bit, late in the afternoon.

As I was missing it a lot I brighten the day up with these colorful travel jewelry rolls. Choosing a name has been easy this time, the one in pink colors is called "fiesta" (party), and the one in blue-green tones is called "martini". They couldn't be more appropriate.

These two will travel tomorrow to Zaragoza, but they are also available upon request in my Artesanio shop.
