Purse organizer

I love big bags, with lot of space. However, that big space is sometimes an enormous disadvantage, as all your stuff is mixed inside the bag. Despite of the small side pockets that any bag may have, my mobile and keys end up at the bottom of the bag and I always have problems to find them quickly.

"Inspired" by these problems I designed this purse organizer. It is perfect to carry all your day to day stuff inside your bag in a very organized way.
It has a big interior space, ideal for your wallet, plus eight side pockets, in different sizes, to carry your mobile, keys, agenda, pens, sunglasses... anything you need in your daily life.

Besides, this organizer will make your life easier when changing bag. You will just need to change the purse organizer from one bag to the other. Easy! less than one minute and you are ready. You will not forget none of your essentials.

I used a strong canvas for the outside, with a nice geometric design. For the lining I chose a cotton fabric in black and white.
The organizer is bind with a red bias tape, matching the red contrasting seam.

This purse organizer is already available here.

Home sweet home: hall during night

When I published this post about our hall I promised to show some photos of the same area during night.
Well, this was long time ago and I had been thinking about taking some photos, more or less, every day. But, you know, the evenings with kids are quite hectic, from dinner to bath time, reading before sleeping, etc, etc, etc..

Today I finally took the photos. So, here you have them, still warm. One from the outside and an inside view.

New pet at home

We have several pets at home. A dog, a few gold fishes... and now a colorful bird also.

I had these birds in my wish list for a long time but never took the time to make them. Today I started and, finally, after so many months thinking about them, I made one. I want to make some more so this one does not feel so alone.

I used the scraps from the Paradise Garden hairclip organizer. So this is called the Paradise bird. For the moment, it is enjoying our plants, and my sewing machine  :)

Chelsea buns

There is nothing better to accompany an afternoon tea than a brioche or similar type of cake. This one is one of my favorites. It combines a very soft and tasty dough with apple, almonds and raisins and a hint of cinnamon taste. Simply delicious!

I have followed this recipe, from L'Exquisit blog, so I will not type it here. The only thing that I've changed is the topping, since I did not have peach liquor. I used Cointreau instead, with a very good result. The orange flavour is perfect for this cake.

Silver brooch

After I made this other brooch I wanted to try some more combinations. This morning I've been cutting the pieces for a silver curvy clutch, like this one, and I decided to make a brooch using the same fabric.

I started with the light silver satin. It was calling for some other contrasting color so I took a piece of dark red satin fabric plus another silver one in a darker tone and mixed them.

It resulted in a beautiful brooch. I love the abstract form and how the different colors complement each other. I hope you like it also!

Its neutral colors and the satin sheen will add an elegant touch to your clothes.
I have already tested it on different clothes to make the photos.

I have listed it in my shop already.

Creative hands: Street art - inflatable bag monsters

Since this post was lost during the hiccups suffered in Blogger last week I publish it again. As I said before, it is amazing to see what can be done with simple garbage bags. There must be a very creative mind behind this idea.

More and more

Two new models have been added to the collection of hairpins organizers. One of them features little forest animals and the other one is the green version of one organizer that I've shown before, the Pink Birds.

Both are already available in the shop.

Recycling fabric scraps: brooches

I have made this brooch using tiny little scraps. Just a few straps, twisted till they start curling, creating this flower-type forms.
I mixed scraps from the asian print used in one of the clutches that I showed in the previous post. Some scraps from the focus fabric as well as some scraps from the lining. Four or five straps were enough to create this one, which has a kind of a cloud form.

Once I had the little curly pieces I put them together and sewn to a brooch pin. So, here it is, a fabric brooch which is, for sure, one of a kind. There won't be another one like this. No matter how many you make they will always be different.

Asian wristlets

It seems that Asian prints and Curvy Clutches are the perfect combination. I have been working on a custom order for two curvy clutches, one using a green fabric with red cherry blossoms and another one with the grey and pink blossoms.
Even though I have already mentioned it I need to repeat it again, I love those fabrics! specially the grey one. I still have a bit more than a yard left. I am sure I will have problems to cut the last pieces.... (sigh...)

For these clutches I created the wristlet version. They look great!

The wristlet is attached to the bag by means of a small swivel hook. That way it can be removed easily if you don't want to use the wristlet version.

These two already have an owner. Anyhow they are listed in my Artesanio shop so they can still be ordered and will be produced on demand, while the fabrics last.

Dreams: Blue City Skyline

Between hairclip organizers and travel jewelry rolls, between curvy clutches... I have produced this linen pouch. Despite all the things I have in my to do list I couldn't help it.

The inspiration comes in different ways. To me it sometimes happens during night, while I am sleeping. The ideas go into my dreams. It may sound a bit bizarre but I swear it happens, not often though, that would be great.

This has been the case for this pouch. Well, not the pouch as such but the applique. I dreamed about it the other day and, when I got up, I drew it on my notebook to remember it. Finally, I decided it could be a perfect design for a cosmetic pouch. And here it is, a dream came true!

I can imagine this design is inspired by the Madrid skyline that I can see in my way to Madrid in the mornings. That is why I called it Blue City Skyline.

Second try: Travel Jewelry roll

This is the second time I prepare this post. And it is not because I have made this jewelry roll twice but due to the outage we've suffered in Blogger since yesterday. I carefully prepared my post yesterday evening and now, zas!, it is gone. Since I never give up, here it goes again!

This has been a custom order, where I was requested to make this travel jewelry roll, just using a different fabric. The selected fabric is definitely one of my favorites, a very elegant asian print. It goes well with everything!

As the previous roll, it has three zippered pockets, in different sizes, to be used for your treasuries. It also has a stuffed roll for your rings, where they will be perfectly protected.

I was tempted to try a different method for closing the roll. However, after thinking about several options I decided to use the ribbon method, which is quite versatile as it allows to close the roll easily, regardless how many things you put inside.

So, this is the final result. I love it!
